Somebody is stealing camp boats

************************* Theft of boats

CHAPLEAU – On May 22 at 3:20 p.m., the owner of Mid North Outpost Camps reported the theft of two 14-foot aluminum boats, red in colour.

The two boats are valued at approximately $2,000 each and have “Mid North Outpost Camps” on the side in fluorescent orange paint.

The theft occurred sometime between September 30, 2008 and May 20, 2009 on Wabus Lake, 13 kilometres in on Whitehead Road.

The padlock and chain used to secure the two boats were also missing.

It is also reported that a green “duck hunting” boat owned by another party may have also been stolen from the same location during this period.

The OPP are requesting the public’s assistance in this theft.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
