************************* Male youth arrested and charged with mischief for spray-painting vehicle and Market Mall

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 13-year-old male youth yesterday at 10:30 a.m. at a centrally located residence and charged him with one count of mischief under $5,000.

It is alleged that on the evening of the 21st of November the accused spray painting a Ford Windstar van parked on Vesta Place and then attended at the Market Mall and sprayed some of the walls and doors and a dumpster.

He is to appear in court on the 4th of January.

************************ Mischief

A 14-year-old male youth was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service last night at 10:40 p.m. at his residence and charged with one count of mischief after he allegedly caused damage to a window inside the home by kicking it.

He is to appear in court on the 4th of January.

************************ Fail to appear

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 25-year-old Colin Nickel of 37 Nichol Avenue yesterday morning at the police station and charged him with one count of fail to appear in court.

It is alleged that the accused failed to appear in court on the 13th of September for a theft-related charge.

He is to now appear in court on the 10th of January 2011.

************************* Mischief

Thirty-eight-year-old Craig Witty of no fixed address was arrested on an outstanding warrant yesterday morning on Allan Street and charged with one count of mischief over $5,000, one count of mischief under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation.

It is alleged that the accused was wanted for an incident that took place on the 24th of September when he and another male caused damage to a Ford Mustang vehicle and then smashed a window of a residence of a person known to them in the 200 block of Wallace Terrace.

At the time of the incident the accuse was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good.

The second male, known to police, is still being sought.

This accused is to appear in court on the 10th of January.
