Some guy from Elliot Lake gets busted

************************* Traffic stop leads to drug charges

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) - In the early morning of November 29, 2006 at approximately 4:31 a.m., officers on patrol observed a vehicle on Highway 108 being operated at slow speed.

Traffic stop revealed a male driver being the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Investigation resulted in the following charges.

Charged with possession of cannabis and possession of property obtained by crime is Oscar Fernando Mendoza-Hernandez (26) of Elliot Lake.

Mendoza-Hernandez is scheduled to appear in court on January 2, 2007.

************************* Patient charged by police

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) - The East Algoma OPP has charged a female with several charges after attending the local hospital regarding a disturbance.

On November 28th, 2006 police were called to attended the hospital regarding a patient becoming upset with staff.

Charged with assault with a weapon X2 and breach of probation is Dara Louise Judd (53) of Elliot Lake.

Judd is held in custody and awaiting a bail hearing.

************************** Personation charges laid after routine traffic stop

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) - While on general patrol, on November 29th, 2006 police stopped a vehicle on Mississauga Avenue in Elliot Lake.

Officers requesting vehicle information and a driver's license from the driver.

The personal information given to the officer by driver was later, through investigation found to be false.

Charged with personation with intent and obstruct police is Shannon Charles Poynter(32) of Elliot Lake.

Poynter is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
