The City's Household Special Waste Depot can now be used by small businesses.

In an initiative approved this week by City Council, up to 10 percent of waste accepted by the facility can come from businesses too small to be covered by provincial hazardous waste regulations.

The Depot is located at 115 Industrial Park Crescent (turn off Great Northern Road across from Esquire Honda) and is open each Friday and Saturday until October, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Here's the price list for small business clients:

- Car/vehicle batteries - no charge - large propane tanks - no charge - acids/bases - $85 per 60L drum - dry cell batteries - $250 per 286kg drum - oxidizers - $85 per 55L drum - flammables - $65 per 65L drum - small propane cylinders - $100 per 65L drum - aerosols - $85 per 65L drum - oil filters - $95 per 83kg drum - paint - $48 per 60L drum - pathological waste (sharps) - $66 per 14kg box - pesticides and ferilizers - $130 per 65L drum - pharmaceuticals - $85 per 65kg drum - antifreeze - 30 cents a litre - oil - 12 cents a litre
