ELLIOT LAKE - On 16 February 2011, members of the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau assisted by members of the East Algoma OPP executed search warrants at two locations in Elliot Lake for evidence in relation to a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation.

As a result, police seized 17.9 grams suspected cocaine, 28 grams cannabis marijuana, 100 oxycodone tablets and other unidentified pills.

Six people, five adults and one 16 year old male youth all from Elliot Lake have been charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking and were released for court on April 5, 2011.

Additional charges are pending analysis of the seized substances.

Police are not releasing the names of the adults as per the requirements of the Youth Criminal Justice Act .
