Sadie, an amazing Scottish terrier owned by the family that owns Mackinac Island's Grand Hotel, is the toast of the global dog community this morning.

Last night, Sadie beat out 2,500 other pooches to win the ultra-prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City.

The two-day event, held annually at Madison Square Garden, is widely considered the foremost dog show in the United States, second only worldwide to Birmingham, England's Crufts show.

"A dog of this quality comes along once in a decade," said show judge Elliott Weiss.

“She’s a great bitch,” added professional dog show photographer Lisa Croft-Elliott.

Sadie is owned by Dan and Amelia Musser, owners of the historic and picturesque 385-room Grand Hotel.

We are given to believe that Sadie understands the words 'hot dog' and 'cookie' in five languages.
