NEWS RELEASE
SAULT AREA HOSPITAL FOUNDATION
*************************
The Sault Area Hospital Foundation Tree of Hope is not just a decoration in our community hospital’s lobby. The tree is prepared every year to spread the hope and joy of our community throughout the holiday season.

Donations come in from across the Algoma District to help purchase medical equipment for our hospital and along with many of these donations, come messages of hope. These messages are displayed on ornaments and placed on the Tree of Hope from now until after the holidays.

The ornaments are already starting to fill up the tree with messages of thanks to caregivers, “we miss you” from family members in memory of their loved ones, gratitude in honour of community members that have made a difference and some just full of love for the holiday season.

Patients, family members and those visiting the Sault Area Hospital are encouraged to stop and read a few of the messages on the tree. “The tree is meant to reflect the hope and joy we all feel this time of year."

"The messages we place on the Tree of Hope are directly from the hearts of people that care about our community. They donate to support healthcare but also want to spread hope this time of year,” said Cheryl Pavoni, executive director, Sault Area Hospital Foundation.

Along with the hope shared on the ornaments, donors find joy in knowing they are helping purchase medical equipment needed to provide excellent care to local patients.

The Sault Area Hospital Foundation will always be fundraising to purchase equipment needed to at our community hospital. Equipment like a new Fetal Telemetry Monitor to ensure care staff can monitor unborn babies as their mothers prepare for labour or an anesthesia carestation to help our Anesthesiologists monitor patients more accurately and keep them comfortable as they undergo surgeries.

All the donations to the Tree of Hope, as well as throughout the year, help the Sault Area Hospital Foundation purchase the equipment needed across all areas of our hospital to deliver excellent care to local patients.

Donations can be made in honour of a family member, client, customer, friend, teacher, neighbor, hospital staff member, physician or volunteer. Gifts can also be made in memory of the person you miss the most this time of year. A card will be sent to notify a person of your choice of your thoughtful gesture and indicate your choice to support local healthcare.

To make a donation, please call (705) 759-3848, visit the Foundation office, which is located at our Hospital behind the information desk in the main lobby of SAH, or visit our website.

The Sault Area Hospital Foundation Board of Directors and staff thank our community, in advance, for their consideration. Excellent local healthcare is a priority in all our lives; let us think of our loved ones this holiday season and ‘Light up the Tree of Hope’ by making our healthcare a priority.
