This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds.
Monitor weather conditions. Listen for updated statements.
If threatening weather approaches take immediate safety precautions.
An upper disturbance will combine with a moist and unstable airmass to trigger scattered thunderstorm activity over the above regions.
Some of these storms will have the potential to produce damaging winds torrential downpours and large hail.
The threat will end this afternoon near Lake Superior but will persist into this evening further east.
