Severe thunderstorms with torrential downpours intense lightning large hail and damaging winds possible today.

This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds.

Monitor weather conditions.

If threatening weather approaches take immediate safety precautions.

The line of heavy to severe thunderstorms that moved into northwestern Ontario early this morning ahead of a cold front have weakened.

However they are expected to redevelop late this morning over Sioux Lookout - Savant Lake to Dryden - Ignace to Seine River Village - Mine Centre regions and race eastward to reach Lake Superior by mid or late afternoon.

In addition. Heavy to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop near noon hour along and north of a warm front from Sioux Lookout - Savant Lake region through Chapleau - Gogama to Kirkland Lake - New Liskeard - Temagami region.

This line will move slowly northward later this afternoon with the warm front.

Damaging winds.

Torrential downpours large hail and intense lightning are all quite possible with these thunderstorms.
