Ontario Provincial Police have advised media that a peaceful demonstration will slow traffic on Highway 17 at Serpent River tomorrow.

Police say the Serpent River First Nation will be handing out literature from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday in an effort to call attention to Canada's residential school system.

The demonstration will take place at Highway 17 and the west entrance to Serpent River Trading Post and Gas Bar.

The highway will be open to vehicles in both directions, but there will be a traffic slowdown.

Motorists are requested to use caution and slow speed when travelling is this area as there will be an increase in pedestrians.
