The Senior Singers of Sault Ste. Marie have been singing for more than 20 years.

The Senior Singers are set for their second benefit concert in support of St. Vincent Place.

The concert is this Thursday afternoon at the Moose Lodge on Trunk Road with admission by donation.

Additional details are available in the following release:

After a pandemic-induced hiatus, the Senior Singers are happy to invite all members of the public to their second benefit concert in support of St. Vincent Place.

Set for 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, the concert will be held at the Moose Lodge at 543 Trunk Road. Admission is by donation, whether monetary, nonperishable, or clothing. Refreshments will be provided, including sandwiches generously donated by Reuben at the Moose Lodge.

The Senior Singers have prepared an upbeat Spring program featuring songs that will appeal to fellow seniors, such as Sentimental Journey, In the Garden, and Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree. As always, they’ll also be throwing in a polka and a country song or two.

The Senior Singers have long been performing at local nursing homes, but have now decided to try putting their talents toward helping St. Vincent Place, a local charity that supports families in need. St. Vincent Place is very grateful to have the Senior Singers’ support.

St. Vincent Place is marking its 20th anniversary this year. Demand for the organization’s services continues to increase as the cost of living keeps going up. For example, in the first four months of 2023, food bank usage has increased by more than 15% compared to the same period last year, with no indication that will slow down.
