SEARCHMONT RESORT

************************** Searchmont Resort open in April?

Skier/boarder appreciation Saturday and Sunday

Searchmont Resort wants to thank all skiers and boarders for their support this past winter.

Join us for some bonus April adventure on the slopes.

Conditions are fantastic for this time of year with barely a bare spot!

You can’t golf yet, so don’t put your skis/boards away for another few days.

2008/09 season pass-holders can bring a friend onto the slopes for only $15.

Equipment rentals are free and new 2009/10 season pass-holders ski/ride for free.

The two-for-one daily ticket pricing is in effect all weekend.

Ride the lift or ride the deck from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 4 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 5.

There's lots to do with the resort’s famous Slush Cup, the Sault and Area Freestyle Alliance (SAFA) year-end Rail Jam, and the Searchmont Ski Runners 1st annual GT race.

Weather permitting, an outdoor BBQ and bar will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Villa rentals are only $149 per unit per night.

The Poma and Double lifts will be in operation.

For event times and details, visit www.searchmont.com or call (705) 781-2340, ext. 0.

Searchmont Resort has an estimated direct and indirect local economic impact of $15.3 million.

It employs approximately 140 full- and part-time employees, is one of the top winter tourist attractions in Northern Ontario, helps attract employers and professionals and their families to the area, focuses on better and healthier Ontarians, serves as a regional training centre for up and coming competitive alpine athletes, and is located next to the TOPS trail.

The resort continues to be supported by a partnership of the SSAI volunteer board, the City of Sault Ste. Marie, CDC, EDC, Tourism SSM, Searchmont Ski Runners, Sault Ski Racers, Searchmont & Area Freestyle Alliance, chalet owners, Our Mountain Members, angel investors, Ministry of Northern Development and Mines, Fed Nor, and Alpine Ontario.
