The Chamber of Commerce Strive: Young Professionals Group will be holding their first summer social on Wednesday July 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Fluid, the Boardwalk patio and Grill at Delta Sault Ste. Marie Waterfront Hotel and Conference Centre.

This event is being held in support of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Sault Ste. Marie.

By supporting a local organization such as Big Brothers and Big Sisters, STRIVE intends to provide guidance to the local youth and provide support in mentorship opportunities.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Sault Ste. Marie supports youth by offering supports for individuals to achieve higher potential through community development, networking events, training opportunities for the purposes of attraction and retention in the community.

Participants will have the opportunity to listen to guest speaker Norm Michel introduce a new program being offered this fall by Sault College.

The Sault College Youth Entrepreneurship Skills (YES) Project offers free in-class training, designed to assist participants in building effective business plans.

About Strive: Young Professionals Group

Strive: Young Professionals Group was developed through the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce to respond to a gap in representation for young professionals within the community.

Young professionals in Sault Ste. Marie are part of a demographic that communicate, network and do business differently than in years past.

These individuals are the future leaders of this community and Strive intends to nurture relationships to maximize the potential of young professionals in Sault Ste. Marie.

The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce recognizes that it is essential that Sault Ste. Marie promote and develop itself as a community of choice for young professionals.
