Sault's home sales set new record in 2019

The Sault Ste. Marie Real Estate board reports that December home sales were down from November's 122, sitting at just 66.

However, sales are up from last December by 3.1 per cent. On an annual basis, home sales totalled 1,624 units over the course of 2019. The board reports that this is a new sales record, passing the previous record set in 2007.

There were also ten more residential listings posted this December than last.

In  December 2019:

• 66 residential units were sold
• $180,531 was the average price of homes sold
• 84 new residential listings were posted

To compare, in November 2019:

• 122 residential units were sold
• $180,303 was the average price of homes sold
• 138 new residential listings were posted

To compare, in December 2018:

• 64 residential units were sold
• $189,557 was the average price of homes sold
• 74 new residential listings were posted
