As of 8:30 a.m. Monday, Tertia Lamb is closing in on second place in the National Guess Watches People's Choice award.

At time of writing, the St. Basil Secondary School alumna had 1,334 votes, compared to 1,829 for #2 and 2,143 for #1.

Tertia now needs fewer than 500 votes to move into the second spot in the competition.

And based on the voting performance of SooToday.com readers since we first asked you to vote for Tertia last Friday afternoon when she had just four votes, we figure she has a great chance of doing so before midnight tonight.

To make sure she stays in the race to become the new face of Guess Watches, we need you to register (very simple) and vote for Tertia by clicking here.

Those of you who've already voted for Tertia, remember you can go back each day and cast another vote.

SooToday.com's really, really, really old readers (those who were with us back in November 2003) will remember how we all did our bit and helped Tertia win the national Estee Lauder Beautiful Model Search Contest hosted by Estee Lauder and Flare magazine.

This is a tougher challenge, but we think you're up to it, Sault Ste. Marie!
