************************ Let your bingo out: Sault Ste. Marie man wins top instant bingo prize

TORONTO – Playing bingo has always been a popular past-time of Ontarians, but you don’t need a bingo dabber to win big on an Instant Bingo game, which is what Sault Ste. Marie resident Lawrence Gatza found out when he scratched away the winning combination for $50,000.

Gatza, a regular lottery player, said he was at home when he discovered he won.

“I was so surprised! It feels great,” he said.

The 58-year old retiree has his eyes on a new vehicle but plans on paying some bills first.

Instant Bingo is part of the OLG Instant lottery game family.

It is available for $3 a play and the top prize is $50,000.

To win, players need to scratch a line, four corners, a letter T, a letter X or an outside box on their bingo game cards.

Odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.14.

The winning ticket was purchased at Mac’s Convenience on Wellington Street West in Sault Ste. Marie.

OLG is a provincial agency responsible for province-wide lottery games and gaming facilities.

Since 1975, OLG lotteries, casinos, slots, and resort casinos have generated more than $28 billion for the benefit of the Province of Ontario.

Gaming proceeds support Ontario's hospitals, amateur sport, recreational and cultural activities, communities, provincial priority programs such as health care and education, and local and provincial charities and non-profit organizations through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
