Due to recent weather conditions, Sault Ste. Marie Services is encouraging all citizens to take precautions, especially when driving.

It is recommended that you stay off roadways at this time due to the high volume of rainfall. Only drive if it is absolutely necessary.

Roadways are flooding and there is a potential for washouts.

The following is a list of areas to avoid due to road closures and impassable roadways:

  • Carmen's Way
  • The underpass on Wellington Street West 
  • St. George's Avenue area.

Residents are reminded not to drive on roads that are underwater, as the roadways may be unstable and dangerous.

Roadways will continue to be monitored and updates will be provided as required.
