SAULT STE. MARIE POLICE SERVICE

On Jan. 5, 2019, officers with the Patrol Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 48-year-old male from Sault Ste. Marie for assault.
It is alleged that around 8:30 p.m., the accused engaged in a verbal argument with his wife. The argument escalated and the accused assaulted the victim by punching her and striking her with household items. The accused then caused damage to a wall, and threw furniture around the residence.
Police were contacted and the accused was taken into custody. He has been charged with one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of mischief. He was held for WASH court.
