Things SooToday.com learned at last night's Down With Webster performance at the Kiwanis Community Theatre Centre:

1. Opening act, The Envy, is quite possibly the best crowd warm-up band on the planet. Touring bands take note. If you need a starter that will hoist every booty in the house out of their seats and whip them into a solid lather, these guys are it.

2. Earplugs come in extremely handy when the California-based 2 a.m. Club hits the stage. It appears the band's blend of pop, soul and hip hop appeals primarily to female tweens who are apt to scream. A lot. A the top of their lungs.

3. It's impossible to stand still whilst Toronto's Sweet Thing is performing. It's also impossible to not sing along to Dance Mother, Lazy Susan and Change of Seasons. And no one has more fun on stage than these boys do. We're sure of it.

4. If you happen to be a small child getting crushed at the front of the stage during a Down With Webster performance, the boys in DWW will come to your rescue by pulling you on stage, thus making every female in the room exceedingly jealous. Not only do they form one of Canada's best party bands, these boys are also the saviours of chivalry.

DWW's Sault Ste. Marie stop was part of the band's cross-Canada Wintour in support of the upcoming release Time To Win, Vol. 2.

The set list included such crowd pleasers as Rich Girl$, Ten, Back of My Hand, G.T.F.O., Your Man and Whoa Is Me.

Nominated for two 2011 Juno Awards for group of the year and pop album of the year, the single Rich Girl$ earned DWW a Canadian Radio Music Award nomination for best new group, and Your Man is up for the 2011 SOCAN song of the year.

DWW's Wintour continues tonight in North Bay and ends in Toronto on March 12 at Massey Hall. ///
