SAULT STE. MARIE, ON (February 11, 2011) - A devastating fire has changed the life of first-year forest conservation student Michael Mathieu.

Although he and his family got out safely, they lost all of their belongings in the fire.

To help Michael and his family get back on their feet, a benefit pasta dinner is being planned for him by fellow classmate Matthew Spina.

The benefit will take place on Saturday, February 26, at the Grand Gardens (formerly the Union Hall on Dennis Street across from Gran Festa).

Doors open at 6 p.m., dinner begins at 7 p.m.

Prize donations are currently being accepted for the event.

Prizes being donated can be dropped off in the marketing and advancement department of the College, care of Mike Mathieu.

Tickets for the fundraiser are available on campus at the Sault College Student Union (SCSU) office located in the Outback and are $20 each.

Monetary donations are also being accepted at the Sault College SCSU office (receipts will be provided), and a trust fund has been set up in their honour:

Scotiabank Transit # 40972 Bank branch # 002 Account # 02468783 In the name of Michael Mathieu
