SAULT COLLEGE

************************* Free tuition offered for qualified older workers SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - (March 18, 2011) - Within the next two weeks, Sault College is delivering an exciting opportunity for older mature workers who may want to re-enter the workforce to access sponsored business training.

Applications are now being accepted for the Business Management program that will be starting shortly.

The Business Management program is one that is being offered through the Targeted Initiative for Older Workers program (TIOW). The Business Management program consists of two semesters that are ten-weeks each.

The program is specifically designed to enhance a person’s employability and career advancement by developing skills in management, marketing, accounting, finance, human resource management, and other critical business-related functions.

Academic requirements to qualify for the Business Management program include a post-secondary diploma or trade certification or significant work experience with Grade 12 and Grade 11 Math.

There are limited seats remaining for those wishing to start studying in this program this spring, so applicants are encouraged to apply now. “Business applications are used in nearly all disciplines in order to actively pursue opportunities in the domestic and global marketplace,” states Vice-President Academic Leo Tiberi of Sault College. “We are excited to be offering this program through the TIOW initiative. With little wait-time to begin retraining, the program will provide a competitive edge to older workers,” adds Tiberi. Those that qualify to participate in the TIOW program will be provided with free tuition to study at the College level.

Associated training costs may include books and supplies.

For more information on the TIOW program and to see if you might qualify for tuition-free retraining at College and to begin soon, contact Debi MacKay at 705.945.0705 or Nouha Ghadie at 705.759.0909.
