Nana Boateng, owner of N.B. Designs & Photography in Sault Ste. Marie, visited the Valente household this past week as they were having a family get-together for making tomato sauce.

"Many people don't know the fun that comes out from making your own tomato sauce," Boateng says. "Take the Valente family, for example. They set up a specific day of the year for all the family members and friend to gather and make the sauce."

"The most fun of it all is having all the little kids around to participate in this event. As the sauce-making is going on, they also have food and wine going around since it an all-day event."
