Loyal reader Randy Edwards has provided SooToday.com with some information about the reopening of several major downtown roadways following construction closures that had rerouted and slowed traffic over many months.

Randy advises that normal traffic flows resumed Friday evening.

While we are pleased to share his observations, we must caution that the following summary is unofficial and has not been confirmed by City authorities.

So continue to use caution in that area, okay?

- Wellington Street from Simpson to East Street is open to two-way traffic. - Pim Street is open at Wellington Street for southbound traffic and for vehicles turning both east and west onto Wellington. - Church Street is open at Wellington Street for northbound traffic and for vehicles turning both east and west onto Wellington. - The stop lights are operational at both the Pim-Wellington and Pim-Church intersections. - The Wellington-Simpson intersection is operating with a flashing amber for eastbound and westbound traffic, and with a red light controlling traffic moving north and south.

In addition, SooToday.com has been advised that the Third Line East has reopened to two-way traffic between Great Northern Road and Old Garden River Road.
