SAH reports outage affecting its telephone service (update)

7:07 p.m. update:

Sault Area Hospital has restored all services affected by the outage.

"We would like to thank the community's patience as we addressed the hospital’s information and communication system outage," SAH said. 

5:17 p.m. release:

Patients arriving at Sault Area Hospital (SAH) can expect delays as the hospital is experiencing technical issues affecting its information and communication systems, including its telephone service.

At this moment, calls to the hospital cannot be received, SAH said in a news release.

Information Technology team is working on this issue and trying to re-establish the network systems, but the hospital staff says they do not know when it will be resolved.

SAH noted 911 services are not impacted by this outage.
