It's raining.

It's raining all over the seats in front of the stage at RotaryFest.

RBC Financial Group PlayZone, Steelworkers Inflatable Park and the Science North Ourtreach activities are shut down and have been packed up.

It's raining all over the sound crew striking Second Stage and packing up the equipment.

It's raining all over Homeniuk Rides but they are still rolling as long as there isn't any lightning, say carnival organizers.

The rain started with a blast of coolness and wind off the river at about 4:50 p.m. today and put a damper on many Rotaryfest activities.

Just as slackrope artist Pete Sweet was about to climb up on the rope for his grand finale the rain came down.

A woman was hit on the head by one of the speakers Sweet had been using.

A gust of wind blew the plastic-bag-covered speaker on her as she dashed by it.

She seemed to be relatively okay as the efficient care givers from St. John Ambulance looked after her.

The Second Stage was also about to start up when the rain came down.

It is currently being moved.

Check back for more news on that from Tyler Simpson shortly.

Festival organizers say that many activities will resume if the rain lets up but will be modified for safety and comfort.

Many of the Make and Take booths are still running as this story is published but vendors say they will pack up if the rain gets any stronger or if no one comes out.

RBC Financial Group PlayZone, Steelworkers Inflatable Park and the Science North Ourtreach will be up and running at noon tomorrow.
