For Rosetta Sicoli, it was awfully nice having someone else serve up the food for a change.

Sicoli, owner of A Thymely Manner at 531 Albert Street East, was one of six recipients of Influential Woman of Northern Ontario awards yesterday at the Sault's Water Tower Inn.

But there wasn't much time to rest on her laurels.

Sicoli soon had to scoot off to cater a completely unrelated event, the opening reception and dinner for Algoma University College's Computer Game Technology Conference.

The energetic Saultite shared the private-sector Influential Woman award for Northeastern Ontario with Karyn Loree-Spacek of Kapuskasing-based KAP Data Systems.

The award was presented by Northern Ontario Business magazine. Here's what they say about her:

"Rosetta Sicoli is owner of A Thymely Manner, a restaurant which has been listed in Where to Eat in Canada as one of the top 500 in Canada for the last six years. She has hosted a number of functions for governors-general, lieutenant governors, premiers, cabinet ministers and foreign heads of state. Sicoli also led a fundraising project for women's mental health that raised over $10,000, is involved with the Art Gallery of Algoma and the local chamber of commerce, and has been a committee member for the casino's committee of suppliers and contractors and the local tourism awareness committee. Sicoli is also a motivational speaker and a guest speaker each year in high schools. She was also the keynote speaker for Network 2000 held at Sault College. Sicoli advises 'Aim to be honest and true to your craft, be honest with who you are and with your customers.'"
