************************* Traffic stop turns up drugs
ALGOMA MILLS, ON - An East Algoma OPP officer on patrol had his suspicions aroused by unusual driving finds - cocaine and marijuana.
On Monday, March 10, an officer on patrol just after 8 a.m. noticed a vehicle in Algoma Mills that was driving unusually slowly.
The traffic stop was made and investigation revealed that the driver was a subject of an outstanding warrant.
Subsequent to arrest the investigation turned up a bag of marijuana with an estimated street value just under $20,000.
Further investigation also turned up a bag of cocaine with a street value just under $12,000.
Three persons were arrested for the drugs and several charges laid.
Charged: Osagie Gabriel Otoide, age 24 of Rathburn Road in Toronto
Charges under Controlled Drug and Substances Act:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance X 2.
- Possession of a controlled substance X 2.
Criminal Code charge:
Failure to comply with bail conditions
Charged: Ronald Pine, age 21 of John Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
Charges under Controlled Drug and Substances Act:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking X 2.
- Possession of a controlled substance X 2.
Charged: Teresa Agawa, age 26 of Cunningham Road, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
Charges under Controlled Drug and Substances Act:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking X 2
- Possession of a controlled substance X 2.
All subjects were in bail court in Sault Ste. Marie yesterday.
Theresa Agawa was released on her own recognizance.
Otoide and Pine were remanded until today for a bail hearing.
The investigation is continuing.
