Thirty-six-year-old Robert Elliott of Apartment 6, 54 Dacey Road, was arrested last night by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified and operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol concentration greater than 80 milligrams.

Police say that just after 9:30 p.m., Elliott was observed driving northbound on Boundary Road and making a right turn onto Trunk Road against the turn arrow.

Two vehicles reportedly had to slam on their brakes to avoid him.

Elliott is due back in court on January 24.
