************************* Attempted robbery - two subjects arrested

ELLIOT LAKE, ON – As the result of an ongoing investigation, police have charged two local males.

On February 15 at approximately 4:40 p.m., police attended the area of the Zellers Drug store in Elliot Lake and based on the investigation police arrested and charged two subjects.

Charged with the following is Ryan Sheldon Dobratz (18) of Elliot Lake:

- Attempt robbery with a weapon.

- Conspiracy to commit indictable offence.

- Utter threat to cause death or bodily harm.

- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.

- Failure to comply.

Also charged with the following is Derek Todd Dobratz (20) of Elliot Lake:

- Conspiracy to commit indictable offence.

- Attempted robbery with weapon.

- Utter threat to cause death or bodily harm.

- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.

- Breach of probation.

Both subjects remain in custody awaiting a bail hearing on today's date.

************************* Domestic-related arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old male at 7:18 p.m. at his residence and charged him with one count of assault and one count of mischief.

It is alleged that on the 15th of February at approximately 1:53 p.m., officers attended at the residence of the accused for a domestic dispute.

Officers learned that the accused had assaulted his girlfriend and damaged her cell phone.

************************* Shoplifting arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 59-year-old James Marini of #1104-70 East Street on the 15th of February at 6:30 p.m. at Rome's Independent Grocers.

It is alleged that he attended at the store at 6:30 p.m. last evening and stole two oven roasts.

He was apprehended by store security and held for police.

He is to appear in court on the 21st of March

************************* Break and enters

A residence in the 100 block of Wallace Terrace was broken into yesterday.

A flat-screen 40-inch LCD television and some jewellery were reported stolen.
