Restaurant manager accused of forcible confinement

ELLIOT LAKE – On Oct. 24, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a dispute at a restaurant between an employee and her boss on Hillside Drive South in the City of Elliot Lake.

Shortly before 3 p.m., police learned that a female employee had a verbal argument with her boss. The supervisor held the employee for 20 minutes in the store during the argument.

As a result, Dilip Patel, 26 years of age, from Elliot Lake, Ontario, was arrested and charged with: Forcible Confinement, contrary to section 279(2) of the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on Jan. 3, 2017.
