Provincial funding provides greater long-term stability for local rehabilitation programs

SAULT STE. MARIE - The provincial government is supporting the Ken Brown Recovery Home Foundation with $30,000 to hire a new part-time manager, David Orazietti, MPP announced today.   “Our government is committed to building strong communities by providing Ontarians with the supports they need to help improve their quality of life,” said Orazietti. “The Ken Brown Recovery Home has been assisting residents in Sault Ste. Marie for many years and this provincial funding will allow the foundation to hire a new manager who can focus on creating greater long-term stability for the home’s programs.”

The provincial funding, which is being delivered through the province’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), will enable the Ken Brown Recovery Home Foundation to hire new staff that will assist with projects that include further developing the foundation’s fundraising program.

An additional part-time manager will be hired to develop a new fundraising strategy for the organization.

"On behalf of the board of directors, staff and volunteers of the Ken Brown Recovery Home Foundation, I wish to express our sincere appreciation to the Government of Ontario for our recent receipt of grant funding through the Ontario Trillium Foundation,” said Wince Lyons, executive director of the Ken Brown Recovery Home. ”This kind support will enhance the fundraising capacity of our organization and help us to increase sustainability of the Home’s programs, supporting men recovering from alcohol and drug dependency."
