A family-posted Facebook memorial page identifies the deceased in a tragic crash Friday near North Bay as Christina Armstrong, until recently a student at Central Algoma Secondary School in Desbarats.

Friends say the 19-year-old (shown) was from Thessalon and was planning to attend college.

She had moved to the Sault in June.

Armstrong was travelling to attend her aunt's wedding today in Shawville, Quebec, according to relatives.

It was only a few months ago that Christina lost her mother. North Bay OPP say the three-vehicle crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. Friday on Highway 17, approximately two kilometres east of Highway 531 in Bonfield Township.

Six people were taken to hospital.

Four were treated and released, one was held for further treatment and Armstrong succumbed to her injuries.

Traffic was rerouted via Line 3 South and Trunk Road Bonfield.

"My poor niece, I miss you so much. Love forever," writes Christina's uncle, Richard Migwans, in a Facebook posting.

Migwans is well-known as a popular security guard at the Sault Transit terminal downtown over the past decade.

School friends remember Armstrong for her involvment in dance class, track and the envirothon.

"I will miss Christina's happy smile," writes Suzanne Humphreys. "She always had time to stop and chat and made my final semester at CASS so enjoyable. Even though she was not in my class this year, she always stopped to chat on her way out of her English class next door. Like everyone else, I just can not believe that Christina is gone. I have never met a more caring person."

"Too young to go," added Lori Dumont Laderoute. "She just picked up her grad picture from Stedmans not too long ago. My heart goes out to her family and friends."
