PUC announces new president, CEO

PUC Services is pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Brewer as president and CEO effective Jan. 2, 2018.

Rob’s appointment follows the recent announcement of the retirement of President and CEO Dominic Parrella after 30 years of service.

Rob brings a wealth of leadership and business experience that will be critical to the successful implementation of PUC’s strategic plan. He has a proven track record within the utility, railway, municipal and forestry industry.

“We are very excited to have Rob’s energy, knowledge and experience to continue our business growth and lead strategic development,” said Jim Boniferro, chair of PUC’s Board of Directors.

In the first month, Rob intends to hold internal meetings with staff as well as external meetings with key members of the community.

“I am looking forward to working with a dynamic team at PUC Services, sharing ideas, and continuing to serve a great community in Sault Ste. Marie,” said Rob Brewer.

Rob is currently the president of Wilderness Environmental Services, a vegetation management company he established in Sault Ste. Marie and grew into a North American business with 165 staff through Canada and 17 U.S. States.

He holds a Hon. B Sc., Biochemistry from McMaster University and has a Master of Business Administration degree in Accounting. He was a member and vice-chair of the Board of Governors for the Ontario College of Trades and past chair of the Utility Arborist Industry Committee.

Rob lives in Sault Ste. Marie with his wife and children where they enjoy golfing, fishing, and skiing.
