Teresa Burns has one of the sweetest new jobs in town.

She gets to play with candy all day long.

And her customers just eat it up.

Over the weekend, Burns opened Candy Bouquet at 290 Wellington Street West, just before Hudson Street, next to La Bella Donna Hair Studio.

And her candy arrangements have been flying off the shelves.

It's a way to give candy and flowers all in one.

Instead of watching them slowly wilt and die, they can be eaten.

Ganache, cookies, chocolates and sweet candies adorn vases, pop cans, mugs and novelty containers.

Burns said her ganache is especially popular and so are the store specialties of chocolate pizza and chocolate-dipped licorice.

Ganache, made from chocolate and cream, is a chocolate so creamy, so rich and mouthwatering, it is a chocolate unto itself.

They even have organic candy made with natural flavours and colours.

Burns said she was going to open Candy Bouquet in Sault Ste. Marie last April, but decided to get some more practise in arranging and to arrange for the shop to be perfect in every way.

So they waited until January.

Burns tells SooToday.com that she has big plans to bring a sweeter life to others.

She plans to eventually become the Canadian training centre for all the Candy Bouquet franchises.
