President Bush has commuted the sentence of Vice President Cheney's former chief of staff, Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Jr.

The commuted sentence comes after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit earlier today denied Libby's request that he remain released from jail while his appeal is being heard.

Libby was previously sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison after being convicted for obstructing a probe into a 2003 CIA leak.
