11:30 a.m. update

Power has been restored to all customers. Cause of the outage was a tree on the line. 

All customers have been restored at 10:45 a.m. If any customers are still without power please contact PUC.

10:45 a.m. original release

This is a description of an unplanned power interruption that is currently affecting PUC Distribution customers in Sault Ste. Marie.

If you have any information leading to the cause of the outage or other concerns please call the PUC emergency number at 759-6555.

Interruption date:  August 22, 2017 at 9:20 a.m.
Customers affected:  918

Cause of interruption: Under investigation

Description of area involved:

Current area affected - Third Line W from Goulais to Peoples north to city limit, Sussex; north to Third Line; Brunswick to west ends of Rushmere, Langdon and Sydenham, Rossmore, Moss Rd.

Line crews are currently investigating.
