Power outage closes much of the Market Mall (3 p.m. update: Pharmacy opens)

3 p.m. update:

IDA Pharmacy is open and operating business as usual under power of a generator, reports the store owner.

11:30 a.m. update:

SooToday's James Hopkin is on scene and reports a power outage affecting IDA Pharmacy at the Market Mall is also affecting all other businesses in the main building of the mall with the exception of the Metro store, which is operating business as usual.

The LCBO, Little Caesar's Pizza and Country Style are also open and operating business as usual.

The Beer Store, located in the northeast area of the mall property, has been affected by the power outage and is closed.

The TD Bank and its automated tellers are also closed, says Hopkin

IDA Pharmacy at the Market Mall is closed Saturday morning due to a power outage, reports SooToday's David Helwig.

Phone service at the pharmacy is also affected by the power outage and is not available.

The owner advises us that the outage may last for some time.

Until power is restored and the pharmacy reopened, medication containers may be brought for refill to any of the following pharmacies:

• Merritt's Pharmacy at 314 Wellington Street West, 705-945-8465
• Ideal Drug Mart at 1416 Wellington Street East, 705-759-4818
• Wellington Square Drug Mart, 705-945-8088

Attempts are being made to restore power to the mall.
