Shaw Communications and the City of Sault Ste. Marie today announced the expansion of the Shaw Go WiFi network to the John Rhodes Community Centre.
This partnership will provide both residents and customers even greater access to Shaw’s cost-effective, carrier-grade broadband network while outside the home.
“We are committed to providing Sault Ste. Marie residents and Shaw customers access to their favourite content through a fast and seamless broadband experience in some of the city’s most popular facilities,” said Jay Mehr, Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President, Shaw Communications Inc. “In the coming months, we will continue to work with the City of Sault Ste. Marie to expand our network and bring the benefits of Shaw Go WiFi into more high-traffic public areas.”
With this partnership, all Sault Ste. Marie residents can access Shaw Go WiFi by connecting to the network at each use.
As a significant value-add, Shaw Internet customers can auto-authenticate with their Shaw.ca email address for seamless connectivity within range of WiFi hot spots.
The addition of the John Rhodes Community Centre adds to Shaw Go WiFi hot spots already established at the Essar Centre; the Civic Centre; along Queen Street; Queen Elizabeth Park; Strathclair Park, as well as multiple local businesses.
“It’s important that the City of Sault Ste. Marie provide the latest in broadband technology to families and residents using our facilities on a regular basis,” said Debbie Amaroso, Sault Ste. Marie Mayor. “We look forward to working with Shaw Communications to identify additional opportunities to expand the WiFi experience in more public locations.”
Shaw Go WiFi can be accessed in over 30,000 hot spots across Canada, from Victoria to Sault. Ste Marie, at no additional cost to Shaw Internet subscribers.
