************************* An 18-year-old male was arrested on the 9th of December and charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a weapon, one count of removing a serial number of firearm, one count of possession of a restricted or prohibited weapon, one count of possession of a weapon obtained by crime, one count of possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm, one count of carrying a concealed weapon, one count of careless storage of a firearm and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

It is alleged that the accused was in a vehicle on the 7th of December and was in possession of a sawed-off shotgun that had been stolen from a residence in Thessalon.

Officers also located several shotgun shells in the vehicle.

It is alleged that the accused was in the process of selling the firearm to another person and had it in the vehicle to transport it.

At the time of the offence the accused was on probation.

The accused was arrested on the 9th of December after officers had completed their investigation.

Due to the YCJA charge the name of the accused cannot be released.
