NEWS RELEASE

*************************** City Police attended at a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Simpson Street and Forest Avenue on Friday the 12th of September at 2:18 p.m. that sent both drivers to hospital by ambulance for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

It is alleged that a 17-year-old female that was operating a Chev Lumina westbound on Forest Avenue, failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and struck a GMC pickup that was northbound on Simpson Street.

The pickup landed on its roof as a result of the collision.

The 39-year-old male driver was trapped temporarily, but managed to get out of his vehicle before Fire Services arrived on scene.

Both vehicles were severely damaged.

The 17-year-old female driver was charged with failing to stop at a stop sign under the Highway Traffic Act.
