NEWS RELEASE

************************* Two males were arrested regarding a stolen vehicle pursuit yesterday.

On the 8th of May at approximately 11:56 a.m., City Police observed a stolen Dodge Stratus travelling eastbound in the area of Lyons Avenue near Patrick Street.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver failed to stop.

A short pursuit was initiated.

The vehicle stopped in the area of Queen Street West near West Street and both male occupants fled on foot.

The canine unit attended in the area and a track was commenced.

The two males were apprehended a short time later in the area. The vehicle had been stolen on the 7th of May at approximately 9 p.m. from the parking lot of the Station Mall.

Arrested: - Twenty-four-year-old Adam Shewchuk of 609 Queen Street West has been charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of flight from police and one count of dangerous driving. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

- Nineteen-year-old Jordan Morrar of 36 Nichol Avenue has been charged with one count of taking an auto without consent and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. He is to appear in court on the 9th of June.
