************************* Drug warrant

On Saturday February 26, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service street team executed a drug search warrant at 738 Pine Street.

As a result of the warrant, officers arrested two persons inside the residence.

It is alleged that the two accused were in possession of 122 marijuana plants, 1,722 grams of marijuana along with various articles used in the production and growth of marijuana plants.

The estimated street value of the drugs is $132,021.

Aaron English, age 38, of 738 Pine Street, is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of production of a substance and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Susan Rutledge, age 33, of 738 Pine Street is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of production of a substance and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Two other males were arrested as a result of the drug warrants.

John McCallum, age 29 of 738 Pine Street is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

It is alleged that the accused male was in possession of 17 grams of marijuana and one gram of cocaine.

The street value of these drugs is $440.

Mr. McCallum is to appear in court on March 28 at 9 a.m.

The fourth male arrested as a result of the drug warrant execution was [charges withdrawn], age 35 of 1519 Third Line East.

It is alleged that [charges withdrawn] along with accused Susan Rutledge and Aaron English was involved in a marijuana grow operation at a residence in the 100 block of Vera Avenue.

At that location officers located 122 marijuana plants, along with various articles used in the production and growth of marijuana plants.

The estimated street value of the drugs is $132,021.

The accused is charged with one count of production of a substance and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

[Charges withdrawn] is to appear in court on March 28 at 9 a.m.

************************* Domestic assault

On Friday February 25, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 23-year-old male for assault.

It is alleged that the accused male assaulted his common-law girlfriend by pushing and shoving her into a nightstand.

Victim was taken to Sault Area Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

The accused male is charged with one count of assault.

************************ Domestic assault

On Friday February 25, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old female for assault.

It is alleged that the accused female assaulted her common-law boyfriend by kicking and punching him in the face.

Victim suffered minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.

The accused is charged with one count of assault.

*********************** Domestic assault

On Friday February 25, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 29-year-old male for assault and mischief.

It is alleged that on Wednesday February 23, the accused male assaulted his wife by spitting in her face.

It is further alleged that during the dispute the accused damaged a door, a wall and television.

The accused is charged with one count of assault and two counts of mischief.

************************* Break and enters

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is investigating four reported break and enters from over the weekend.

- Entries were reported to residences in the 400 block of North Street and the 200 block of Albert Street East. It is not known what was taken at this time. - Break-ins were also reported to a business in the 100 block of White Oak Drive and to the construction trailers at the Francis H. Clergue School. Again it is not know what was taken.

************************* Mischief

Vehicles parked in the following locations were reported damaged:

- The 700 block of Young Street, the 200 block of Bay Street and two vehicles were damaged at the rear of a business in the 400 block of Queen Street East.

************************* Theft

- Vehicles parked in the 100 block of Softwood Drive and the 100 block of Hawthorne Avenue were entered – it is not known at this time what if anything was taken.

- A motel room was entered and electronics were reported stolen.
