Police seek help to find high-risk missing person Updated

High risk missing person located 1:20 a.m.
 
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is pleased to report that missing person John Yurich has been located.
 
The Ontario Provincial Police in Wawa confirmed that an off-duty paramedic located Mr. Yurich in a ditch 40 km west of Wawa on Highway 101. 
 
He is being treated for minor injuries and exposure and appears in good health. 
 
Thank you to all those who assisted in this extensive search.

9 p.m. update Mr Yurich's camp on Haviland Shores Drive has been checked with negative results. 
 
He has been known to drive to his camp in the past. 
 
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, along with the OPP are checking outlying areas. 
 
Residents north of Sault Ste. Marie including the Haviland area, are requested to check their properties and report any parked vehicles.
 
The search for Mr. Yurich is continuing.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is asking the public’s assistance to help locate a high risk missing person. 

Missing is 81-year-old John Yurich of Korah Road. 

Mr. Yurich suffers from dementia and was last seen yesterday, 24 November 2012 at 4 p.m.  

He lives alone and travels from Korah Road to family’s residences on Gillies Street. 

He may be in his vehicle. 

He drives a 1996 Dodge pickup - black in color with a black cap that is hand painted and doesn’t fit the box well.

Ontario licence plate 734 9AR.   

He has a small white dog named Molly. (shown above)

He is described as Caucasian, 6 feet tall, thin build, grey hair, brown eyes, and wears a green parka. 

Anyone with information on the location of Mr. Yurich is asked to call police immediately.
