The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, Algoma District School Board, and Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board are partnering up as part of a new patrol initiative.

The Sault Ste.Marie Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan is described as a working plan to "mitigate social risks that negatively affect the community."

The partnership is set to begin on March 20 and will see the three groups work to find innovative ways to support and benefit the overall social wellbeing in the community.

As part of the partnership, officers assigned to Dynamic Patrol will be working closely with secondary schools in the community and will be in schools periodically to interact with students, engage in some school activities and to encourage a safe learning environment, where each student feels they belong and can participate and learn.

Early intervention and prevention programs and services for children are a priority to help them grow into healthy adults and is a crucial part of the the Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan.
