Police respond to alarm at Second Line West business

Two males face criminal charges including breach of probation, theft and wearing a disguise with intent to commit a crime

In the early morning of July 29, officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to an alarm at a business in the 900 block of Second Line West. 

Officers searched the building and located two male suspects inside, one of the males was wearing a balaclava to conceal their identity. A search of the accused revealed they were in possession of property that had been taken from that business. As a result;

  • 45 year old Thomas Wierzbicki has been charged with break and enter to a business, theft, possession of stolen property and breaching a condition of his probation by not keeping the peace and being of good behavior.
  • 27 year old John Wayne McGaughey has been charged with break and enter to a business, theft, possession of stolen property, wearing a disguise with intent to commit a crime and breaching a condition of his undertaking by not abstaining from intoxicating substances.

Both accused attended bail court today.
