************************* Male charged with stealing a car

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - (December 15) - Forty-three-year-old Andrew Sheridan Swan of 314 Albert Street East, unit 11 has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of breach of probation and one count of breach of undertaking.

It is believed that on the 13th of December at approximately 3 p.m. the accused was at a local central establishment consuming alcohol, when he stole a set of keys off of the bar.

The accused then attended outside and [allegedly] stole a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire.

Police were called and during the course of their investigation into the stolen vehicle they located it outside Mr. Swan’s residence at approximately 3:15 p.m.

At that time the accused was exiting his residence and returned to the vehicle with the keys in his hand.

He was placed under arrest.

At the time of the arrest he was on an undertaking not to consume any alcohol and on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

He will be appearing in court this morning.
