Police identify woman charged in Timmy's robberies

************************* 32-year-old Lori Legault of no fixed address was arrested this morning just before 6 a.m. on Bay Street in connection to the two robberies at the Tim Hortons overnight.

She has been charged with two counts of robbery, one count of theft under $5,000, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of resist or obstruct peace officer and two counts of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on the 27th of September at 12:15 a.m. the accused attended at Tim Hortons on John Street wearing a dark sweater with the hood up, handed the clerk a note claiming to have a gun and a knife and demanding cash.

No weapon was produced and the female fled the scene by cab with an undisclosed amount of cash.

It is further alleged that around 5:45 a.m. on this same date the accused attended at the Tim Hortons on Bay Street and once again robbed the clerk in a similar manner.

The accused produced a note indicating that she had a gun and knife and she would shoot if she didn’t get anything.

The accused fled on foot.

Police attending in the area discovered that the accused was attempting to hide in a Lock City Milk truck that was parked near the store.

When they approached she fled but was quickly apprehended.

The accused struggled with the officers when being arrested and was found in possession of a cell phone that she had [allegedly] stolen from the milk truck.

At the time of the incident the accused was on a probation order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The clerks involved in the robberies were not physically harmed.

The accused is to appear in bail court on the 28th of September.
