The Kensington Conservancy is hosting their 2018 TKC Poker Run this Saturday! It is taking place at the Archibald Homestead, located on Archibald Road, just east of Desbarats.

Bring your canoe, kayak, or other non-motorized boat to compete in this event. There are three different route options: 2km, 5km and 10km. All boats must be equipped with the required safety equipment.

The event is scheduled to start at 10 a.m., with registration starting at 9 a.m. We encourage you to pre-register online to save time that morning, which can be done at kensingtonconservancy.org

Registration is $10 per boat, with the money helping support The Kensington Conservancy’s conservation efforts in the Desbarats area. The first 25 participants to register Saturday morning will receive a waterproof phone case, courtesy of the North Channel Current.

The prize for the best poker hand out of all their routes will be a padding PFD, with a hat and t-shirt, provided by Gardiner Marine. There will also be a door prize and a prize for the fastest finish in each route.

Gardiner Marine will also have their selection of kayaks and SUPs on site to check out.

For more information, contact Carter at The Kensington Conservancy at 705-782-2200.
