A faithful SooToday.com reader sent in some photographs today of the deck rehabilitation work currently underway on the Canadian arch truss on the International Bridge.

The $1.1 million project, expected to continue until June 26, involves removal of the blacktop with demolition of the surface of the underlying concrete bridge deck, and pouring of a new specialized concrete surface.

If you're heading across the river this Memorial Day, be aware that you are expected to obey the temporary traffic signals and speed limits in the bridge construction zone.

Last week, the bridge administration issued a warning to motorists who've been seen running the red lights controlling traffic in the single lane through the work zone.
