It's a crappy job, getting assigned to trawl Harmony Beach on a Saturday afternoon, collecting photos of people for another of SooToday.com's famous photo galleries.

But somebody's got to do it.

Your humble photographer, who's not one to back down from a proposed story idea, reluctantly took the job.

Even if that meant he had to spend his precious Saturday afternoon hanging around at the beach when he obviously had better things to be doing.

At first things looked bleak, but once we met Sté Bennardo [shown] and his incredible enthusiasm when it came to getting his picture taken, the rest of the day was a breeze.

We also ran into Anthony Mannarino and his friends, who were putting together a pick-up soccer game while Ken Reid kept knee-deep in the water showing off his skills with a fluorescent pink Frisbee.

It was tough, but our photographer got the job done leaving with 22 photos and a sunburn.
